About Us
What is made. known.
made. known. is a website dedicated to “Walking with you in faith through identity, gender, and sexuality.” We do so by providing a constantly growing library of written resources, as well as dedicated support through speaking engagements and personal connections.
The name made. known. is short for Wonderfully Made and Fully Known. It is taken from two different Bible passages. Psalm 139:14 says, “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” This reminds us of the beauty of God’s creation despite the effects of sin on our bodies.
So, does God see us through our struggle and sin? 1 Corinthians 13:12 says, “For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.” Even now, God sees us and knows us fully – not only our current challenges, but he knows the future he has in mind for us as well, and he promises to make all things work together for the good of his children. And thanks to Jesus our Savior, we are his children.

Why made. known.
Identity and human sexuality have become key spiritual concerns with numerous cultural pivots over time. Many people have questions about sexuality and gender in connection with their faith. This website exists to walk with you in faith through identity, gender and sexuality so that together we can all see how wide and high and deep is the love of Christ (Ephesians 3:18).
How was made. known. developed?
Formed at the request of the Conference of Presidents of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS), made. known. is an effort of the WELS Committee on Identity, Gender, and Sexuality. The committee is made up of pastors, counselors, teachers, and other members of the WELS.
